About Us: Who we are and what we do

The Australian Air League is an organisation with the goal of developing air-mindedness in the youth of the community. Cadets meet on Friday nights at Warnervale Aerodrome and participate in activities year-round, such as Flying Days, Camps and various Competitions.

What the AAL has to offer

The Australian Air League is a youth organisation for boys and girls aged from 8 years which encourages an interest in aviation as a career or as a hobby for the youth of Australia. The organisation is entirely self-funding and is staffed by volunteers who give their time generously to achieve its goals.

The league offers:

  • Theory and practical aviation courses
  • Power and glider pilot training
  • Recreational and Leadership Training courses and weekends
  • Sporting Carnivals and PE activities and competitions
  • Opportunities for promotion and advancement
  • Participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
  • Development of self esteem, self confidence and self discipline
  • Music lessons to join our marching band
  • The Australian Air League was formed in 1934. The first Squadron was opened in Manly (NSW) and the Air League quickly spread throughout that state. Today the Australian Air League is active all over the nation.
